The Florida State Attorney General was investing four firms on the suspicion “that they are using fabricated documents to evict thousands of homeowners”. Bank officials signed sworn affidavits in foreclosures cases supposedly verifying “their knowledge of the matters in question”.

In Florida, one out of every 56 homes is in foreclosure as of the third quarter of 2010.
